About the Lodge
Staying at Mara Mara Tented Lodge
Mara Mara Tented Lodge is in the Kogatende area of the northern Serengeti, close to the Mara River. Between June and November this is where the Great Migration arrives, and it is one of the best places in Tanzania to watch the dramatic river crossings, as herds of wildebeest and zebra plunge into the Mara under the eyes of waiting crocodiles.
The lodge is split into two small camps, North and South, each with its own main house, lounge, restaurant and swimming pool. There are 20 tents on raised wooden platforms and 4 bungalows with interconnecting rooms for families. Each has a private terrace and an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and outdoor shower, all in a bright, modern African style.
Beyond game drives, guests can float over the plains on a hot-air balloon safari, enjoy a private sundowner, or end the day around the campfire.
