Staying at Acacia Farm Lodge
Acacia Farm Lodge is a romantic country lodge on a 25-acre working farm just outside Karatu, high on the Great Rift escarpment with panoramic views over the farmlands and the Ngorongoro forest. It is perfectly placed for the Ngorongoro Crater, whose gate is about 15 minutes away, and for Lake Manyara National Park, about 20 minutes away.
Its 32 rooms are set in 16 well-spaced cottages among gardens and coffee fields. Each is en-suite, with air conditioning, a mini-bar, coffee and tea facilities, satellite TV, Wi-Fi and a private balcony with sweeping views.
The lodge has a lounge, bar, dining room, coffee shop, swimming pool, gym and spa, and serves farm-to-table cuisine. Guests can take farm tours, nature walks and hikes, visit Karatu's market and school, or meet local communities on a cultural visit.
